Port Said is a city located in Egypt. It was established in 1859 during the building of the Suez Canal.
France maintained post offices during the latter half of the 19th century and the early 20th century in Alexandria and Port Said.
For Port Said, stamps were issued by France overprinted “Port Said”. The first stamps were French stamps modified to include the name of the post office. In 1921 they were surcharged with Egyptian values.
