Welcome back to our journey. In the beginning, we had to sort out pre-printed albums where the stamps were mainly stuck into the albums. We did not take the stamps off the paper, but made sure when cataloguing the stamps, that we knew exactly where the stamps could be found. Since Album AA, the stamps we have sorted were loose, so wesorted them and placed them into old albums. Some of these albums are very small. This album, AE only has about 500 stamps.
We found stamps mainly from African countries which today are all part of the Commonwealth, i.e. Basutoland, Lesotho, Bechuanaland, Botswana, Malawi, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. This meant there were many stamps of the British royals, from the first half of the 20th century, and then more modern stamps once the countries declared independence. There were also stamps from Singapore.
Hope you enjoy and as always, we’d love to hear from you.
