Cyrenaica

Cyrenaica Coat and Flag

Cyrenaica was the name of the administrative division of Italian Libya from 1927 to 1943.

The first stamps were Italian stamps overprinted Cirenaica in 1923.  From 1926 stamps inscribed Cirenaica appeared until 1934.  After this the areas of Cyrenaica, Tripolitania and Fezzan were united to form the Italian colony of Libya.
