Austro-Hungarian Post Offices in the Turkish Empire

Austro-Hungarian Military Post Coat of Arms

Austria and other European nations maintained a system of post offices in the Turkish Empire in the first half of the 20th Century.  This was mainly due to the fact that the postal service in the Turkish (Ottoman) Empire, was very unreliable.  Most of the Austro-Hungarian post offices had closed by 1914, except for several in Albania which remained open until 1915.
