French Congo

French-Flag

The French Congo was a French colony which comprised the present day area of the Republic of Congo, parts of Gabon and parts of the Central African Republic.

The first stamps were issued in 1891.  They were stamps of the French Colonies overprinted Congo Francais.  Stamps with this overprint were only issued until 1900, thereafter they were replaced by stamps of Gabon and Middle Congo.
