French Equatorial Africa

French Equatorial Africa (Federation of French Colonies 1910 -1934, French colony 1934 – 1958) was the federation of French colonial territories in Africa extending to the north from the Congo River to the Sahara, and comprising what are today Chad, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo and Gabon.

The first issues in 1936 are overprints on stamps of Gabon and Middle Congo.  The last stamps of French Equatorial Africa were issued in 1958.  From 1959 these were superseded by the issues of the individual self governing countries.
