The Republic of Paraguay is a landlocked country in South America. It is bordered by Bolivia in the north and west, Brazil in the north and east and Argentina in the south and west. The capital is Asuncion.
After long periods of political unrest and eventual dictatorship, since 1993, the country has had a more peaceful political situation.
Since 1870, Paraguay has issued its own stamps.
