
Thrace is an area in south east Europe bounded by the Balkan Mountains, in the north, the Aegean Sea in the south and the Black Sea in the east. Today it is split between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey.
In 1920, stamps were issued by the Allies, using stamps of Bulgaria overprinted Thrace, then by Greece using stamps of Greece overprinted in Greek. During the occupation of Adrianople during 1920, Turkish stamps were used overprinted in Turkish.
