Leeward Islands

Leeward Islands Flag and Coat

The Leeward Islands were a British colony from 1890 until 1954.  They consisted of the islands of Antigua, Dominica, Montserrat, Nevis, St Kitts and the Virgin Islands.  They all used stamps inscribed “LEEWARD ISLANDS”  but often, these stamps were issued at the same time as stamps of the individual islands.  The Leeward Islands stamps were withdrawn in 1956.
